For all of our super creative couples looking to really customize their wedding space check out this fabulous reception space.

Why find a wedding venue when you can create one? With the help of a dedicated events team like Your Event Solution | YES  you can design a space that is perfected and refined to suit your event needs. We spoke with the Your Event Solution | YES team about a recent wedding in the Southern Highlands…

How did Your Event Solution | YES create a space for this wedding?

We constructed a reception marquee (20m x 30m) including a verandah with lounge and bar area (5m x 30m) to accommodate 170 guests seated. A dancehall marquee (10m x 9m) with clear walls and roof was erected nearby with 3m x 8m stage. We also provided furniture and equipment hire plus event support.

Tell us about the property…

The Southern Highlands property was surrounded by beautiful gardens and sweeping rural views. The marquee was positioned to take full advantage of the view, manicured lawns and the garden setting.

How did Your Event Solution | YES cater to the needs of this event?

We used a number of marquees and structures to create dedicated spaces: reception, lounge and bar, dance hall with band stage as well as catering facilities.

By designing the venue with various marquees, we were able to create dedicated spaces for dining, lounging and dancing; creating spaces that guests could enjoy throughout the evening. Having a separate dance marquee meant that music was confined to an area, allowing the reception marquee and lounge spaces to be more quiet areas for conversations.

Can you design and create a space according to a theme or style?

Yes! This reception marquee had a European feel featuring long banquet tables with timber bentwood chairs and a soft colour palette of neutral linens and vases of coral, cream and yellow roses. French doors from the reception marquee opened onto a verandah with a lounge and bar area, flowing onto the lawns with outdoor seating.

Every Bride knows the age-old tradition, ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’; and one of the easiest ways to incorporate ‘something blue’ is just by wearing blue shoes. It is as simple as that. So for this week’s fashion Friday, we are going to feature blue wedding shoes. Blue shoes add a pop of color and a little flare to you wedding day attire. Blue shoes are also very unexpected. If you are searching for a very specific shade of blue and are having bad luck, don’t get frustrated, you can contact your bridal shop or another local bridal shop, most of them dye shoes. You can pick out your favorite shoe style or bring in your own pair (just made sure they can be dyed), and either pick from a book of color palettes, or bring in your own color and they can match it. (Hint-Sometimes this is a cheaper route!) We have put our pinning skills to the test to find some fabulous blue wedding shoes for you.

Here are some of our favorite ‘something blue’ wedding shoes:

From our first phone consultation, I knew how particular Shauntrelle was with all her wedding details, down to the cakes and card box.  She knew exactly what she wanted and had almost everything planned—(I am sure it helps that she works in hotel sales too!)  Her Pinterest boards were exploding with gorgeous visions of greenery, blush roses, lanterns, ivory lace, gold chargers, gold chiavaris, mint wedding inspiration, and so much more.  We could not wait to dive in and start helping her finalize her plans.

With approximately 90 guests, mainly their closest friends and family, a gorgeous destination venue, and a palette of mint, ivory, and gold –everything culminated into a breathtaking event.  With overhead clouds looming, we were worried of having to move the ceremony indoors, but with a last minute “rain prayer” from Reverend Eddie, we were sure the bad weather would blow over.  Indeed, it did!  On the wedding day, the weather held out and the gorgeous ceremony was held at the gazebo overlooking the water.  The guests enjoyed a beautiful cocktail hour sipping mojitos and they all danced the night away and gathered in the fabulous photo booth to make more wonderful memories!

Our favorite moment of the evening was Shauntrelle and Chris’ personalized first dance to “I Thought I Loved You Then,” by Brad Paisley.  The couple dubbed in special vows to each other that played over the lyrics, and it was such a special momemnt that brought tears to everyone’s eyes.

Shauntrelle and Chris trusted in us with their final vision, details, and vendors, and we were so honored to be apart of their special day.
